Alex,I came in for a reading with you in May of last
year, despite being more of the logical type (in fact, you mocked me a little
bit for being so ruled by logic :)). However, I was actually really inspired by
the reading and became more interested in the potential of divination (especially
tarot cards) to provide unseen insight into situations. I received cards as a
birthday gift (10/2/86, born in Huddersfield England
at 2AM) and slowly started to use them, pulling a card every couple of days for
some insight. I've found my relationship to the cards to be quite uncanny - I
often pull the same cards repeatedly, have predicted cards before pulling them,
and have even accurately dreamed of the next card I will pull. I've been
consistently amazed by the insight I have found through using the cards. It's
helped me with interpersonal situations, self-confidence and has strengthened
my spiritual life too. Basically I think they can be a great tool for personal
growth. Alex
When I teach tarot ( in fact I will be offering a tarot class at the Tearoom
very soon) One of the first points I always try to get across is that Tarot is
a wonderful tool for self discovery. That is not to say that you should be
using it solely
to make your own predictions or divine your own future constantly. Its a fine
line but I would say use it more as a tool of self discovery than a personal
fortune teller. :) Mastering tarot by introducing it to yourself will take time
and effort but has the same advantage that teaching yourself how to cook has: The
recipes are uniquely yours. The
difference between just reading the cards and being a master of tarot is being
able to blend combinations of cards (not just pairs of cards) into a single meaning.
When you have mastery, you have truth, you have facts. Now you can ask
questions about your own life that are more personal
than you would want to share with anyone else. You can discover your own
motives at your own pace. Alex, I am thinking, as most people
are this time of year, of making positive changes. I am in a career I
like, but I feel my strengths and personality might be happier and more
successful in another career. I would need to go back to school for
additional classes. As a full time working mom, I want to do this, and I
am willing to do the work. I wonder if you see this happening soon and if

my mother who passed 5 years ago on a daily basis, I can feel her presence in
the room with me...many folks say when you are in the presence of a spirit, the
temperature drops dramatically...I have never experienced that...could you tell

disembodied soul is present .one who has passed on but has not gone through
the light (ghost), so a spirit that has crossed over would not have that same

is this: I am turning fifty in a few months and keep running into the
same problem-fear of failure. I leave jobs frequently due fear of failing

these things you have already answered- it is fear. When the fear is
something that is repetitive, shift the logical mind from imagining the fear,
to hope.
You can just as easily find hope in any situation as you can fear. Imagine that
fear is not allowed to exist in this situation. See where it takes you. You
will find that the positive scenario will be the one that is full of hope.
'Catch' yourself in the fear thought and shift instead to the new scenario of
hope. Whatever you focus on the most will come into your world. Life is too
short to be afraid, and fear truly is the thief of dreams. So in a nutshell
find a way to over-turn fear, with with hope or
